Grandson : Earn before you spend

My childhood memories are blur now. I can't remember all those childhood days but some memories are still vivid. We used to visit our parents during vacation. And those vacations were what we all used to count.

As a child I was mischievous, enthusiastic, used to speak with lisp, cry like mad and laugh like devil. I have made a lot of mistakes and some of those mistakes have given greatest lessons of my life.

As a child I loved chocolates a lot and still I do. I used to ask Rs 10 with my Grand Father. Sometimes he used to give it but at times I remember he used to give us a basket. A basket which could hold almost 6 Kgs of coffee beans and used to ask us to fill it with coffee beans.

We had some coffee bushes in our surroundings. We used to collect beans and he used to give us 10 rupees each saying now, you have earned it. He always insisted me to earn rather than to ask or beg. He had a clear thought that if you want to spend you have to earn it first.

And this was one among the greatest lesson I have learned from my grandfather. When it is not about Investment then it is always advised to earn before you spent.

I have read some of great business books, attended seminars and watched YouTube videos regarding personal financing. In all the forums, financial advisers are focusing on rational use of Credit Cards. They are urging people not to sell your future for present luxuries.
